A Wright Good Race! August 2002

Following on from a successful race at Manchester’s Belle Vue track on Sunday night, Formula One Stock Car Driver John Wright had a brilliant evening at the Sheffield Owlerton stadium on Bank Holiday Monday.

John who is sponsored by Doncaster’s RS Displays & Exhibitions and Askew Design & Print, raced in the prestigious Driver’s Benevolent Fund race and came third behind Nuneaton’s Rob Cowley and the race winner, Silsden based Frankie Wainman Jnr.

In the Meeting final, John came from the back of the grid to finish in 4th place and then went on to better all earlier results by soundly winning the Grand National Race, the Steve Froggatt Trophy.

Said John “The new car is really living up to my expectations and I am pleased for the good results for both my team and my sponsors. RS and Askews have backed me for the 2nd season and it was brilliant to win at their local track.”

John is back in action this weekend at Skegness Stadium.
